A crown is used to restore a tooth that is heavily broken down or to improve the appearance of a tooth.

It provides strength, durability and is a long term treatment. A root filled tooth usually requires a crown as the tooth becomes weakened by the procedure. There are a few different types of crowns; these include porcelain, porcelain fused to metal and gold crowns. Your dentist can discuss with you, which type of crown will be most suitable for the area you are having crowned.

A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth or multiple teeth.

It is a FIXED appliance that is joined by the neighbouring teeth of the missing tooth or teeth. The false tooth is attached by the bridge which is cemented onto the neighbouring teeth. A bridge provides strength and durability.
