Routine Dental Examination including Scale and Polish
A yearly examination of your teeth is essential in maintaining good oral health.
Your dentist will start with a visual examination. Two bite wing x-rays are taken to allow us to see the crowns and portions of the roots to check for dental caries (decay) and any other underlying problems. A thorough mouth clean is performed by your dentist using an ultrasonic scaler to remove hard deposits of calculus and soft plaque, finished with a full mouth polish. If these deposits are left too long, there is a marked increase in gum/bone irritation which may long term lead to early loss of teeth. |
